| Vrogum - Svarre is working on the certification of all our products according to the PEFC. We hope to have finished the certification by the end of 2010, and then be able to offer PEFC certificated products. Big interest! The interest in certification of sustainable forestry and traceability of wood products is originally based on a desire to protect the rain forest against clearances and illegal felling. Since then, it has grown to cover the world forests in general and over the 1990s there was a rising interest in certifying sustainable forestry in North America and Europe. Thus, PEFC - Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes - being a network for mutual recognition of national certification schemes for sustainable forestry was founded.
PEFC is backed up by many different organizations representing forestry, the wood industry, wood commerce, the atate and NGOs etc.

| ._flip_-_pine_with_waterdrop.jpg) Founded in 1999, PEFC has become the world's largest umbrella organization for forest certification. PEFC counts 32 countries as her members, from which 23 countries have approved systems.
PEFC International is managed by the PEFC Council, whose members are elected at the annual PEFC International General Assembly.
More than 200 million hectares of forest are certified in accordance with the PEFC system and more than 3300 traceability certificates have been issued.
